LUCION SERVICES NAMED AS ONE OF 1000 COMPANIES TO INSPIRE BRITAIN BY LSE GROUP

24 July 2019

According to the London Stock Exchange (LSE) Group, 60% of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for 60% of private-sector employment. The LSE has put together the ‘1000 Companies To Inspire Britain’ report to help support and celebrate the growth and development of SMEs, describing them as ‘the lifeblood of the British Economy’.

The ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report is an annual celebration of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), representing over 40 industry sectors in the UK. As well as identifying 1000 companies, the annual report, now into its 6th year, examines the opportunities and challenges facing SMEs across a range of sectors and regions. The London Stock Exchange (LSE) Group annually produces the report to hero entrepreneurial drive.

Who makes the cut?

According to David Schwimmer, CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group, businesses had to demonstrate not only positive growth in revenue over the last three years but also outperform sector peers in order to make the top 1000.

The metrics focus of the report, determining who makes the 1000, goes beyond just short-term revenue and profit growth but assesses employee numbers, square footage increase or the number of patents submitted etc. The information is gathered based on publicly available information only and is not the product of marketing or financial instrument.

To build this list, financial technology company DueDil combined the key financial performance indicators including; company status, the size, and age of the company, financial performance, and sector benchmarking, using its intuitive online tool. Their online interface gives insight and context to the gathered data, providing a comprehensive view of an organisation’s performance.
