Lucion Group Welcomes New Chief Financial Officer, Jo Seymour, to the Board.

20 April 2023

At the beginning of April, as our new financial year began, we welcomed Jo Seymour to the team as our new Chief Financial Officer, to help take Lucion Group forward towards our goals.

Jo is a chartered accountant with over 30 years’ experience. She trained with EY before moving into industry and has held senior finance roles in a range of sectors including betting and gaming, media, and FMCG. Prior to joining Lucion, Jo was finance director in a publicly listed business. Having been part of a larger organisation that has responsibility to public and private stakeholders, Jo will bring a wealth of experience and practices that Lucion will benefit from as we enter the new phase of our 5 year vision.

With any new appointment comes an opportunity to expand our horizons. The Group will benefit not only from Jo’s previous technical experiences, but also from her perspectives and opinions, to create a well-rounded team.  Commenting on Jo’s appointment, Lucion Group CEO, Phil Rozier said;

“What is crucial for me is that we continue to embed our purpose; protecting people and planet, into all that we do. Finance as a department is key to this, as we must continue to invest in our ESG commitments, invest in our teams, and give back to the communities that we work within. Jo is very much aligned in our thinking and keen to help us drive this forwards. Myself and the rest of the Board are looking forward to working with Jo and supporting her as she takes on the responsibility of the financial elements of our 5 year vision.”

Jo is responsible for the financial oversight of the group and for ensuring the strategic and financial direction of Lucion Group are aligned.  Jo works closely with the Group's banks, advisors and our private equity investors, Palatine Private Equity. Jo’s first tasks in her new role will include establishing the key drivers and requirements of the finance team across the Group, and integrating the various systems of our newly acquired companies, to create streamlined financial reporting for the Board.

In addition, she’s also keen to join some of Lucion Group’s wider initiatives and communities, such as the Group’s Lean In Circle, where Jo will be a guest speaker in the Group’s May event, talking about her career journey to date. Lean In Circles take place all over the world, inspired by Sheryl Sandberg’s book, Lean In. Our monthly Lean In meetings provide an opportunity for people throughout our Group to network and share experiences. Speaking about her appointment, Jo commented;

“It’s a privilege to be joining Lucion Group, as a purpose-driven business.  I’m excited by the opportunity to work with the exec team, investors and colleagues and hope to bring my expertise and experience to help grow the business to deliver a sustainable future.”
